Micro Hydro Generation Potential in county Clare

Limerick Clare Energy Agency commissioned this report with support from the Clare Local Development Company, for the purpose of identifying the micro hydro electric potential at domestic and commercial scale in County Clare.

The report has identified and analyzed 5 commercial and 5 domestic sites suitable for hydro-electricity generation. The electricity generation potential could be 1348 MWH; and save 726 tonnes of CO2.

Micro Generation exemptions – Industry & Commerce

Minister John Gormley (Environment, Heritage & Local Government), has announced exemptions to planning in certain circumstances for Micro Generation of electricity. The minister’s planning exemptions for micro generation document sets out details of the exemptions and conditions that apply for the industrial, commercial, public and agricultural sectors.
