Energy Minister Eamon Ryan announces support for pilot micro generation

The Minister for Communications Energy and Natural Resources, Eamon Ryan announced the launch of the Small- and Micro- Scale Generation Pilot Field Trials today 26th February, 2009.

The key objectives of SEI’s Small- and Micro- Scale Generation Programme are to assess technical, financial and regulatory issues surrounding the deployment of small and micro generation technologies in Ireland. The pilot will comprise a range of different technologies of different scales in different locations.  It is anticipated that around 50 installations will be supported under the pilot programme. The table below gives an indication of the pilot projects expected.

Up to 40% of eligible costs investment grant support to qualifying small and micro-scale generation is available.

The maximum grant for any installation is 40% of the Eligible Cost Limit. A maximum limit of €100,000 can be granted to any applicant or organisation.
